Craig I can officially say that I have been in the car business for a long time. And over the years and through my experience I have made some mistakes and tried some products that were just a waste of my time.
😯 I have to admit, I have been traveling more than I should and maybe slightly more absent at my dealership than I should be as well.
We have a new detailer that is absolutely killing it for us and just learning the tricks of the trade! I am looking forward to him growing with us.
Now with me being more absent than I should be, I am not always there to coach him along or be there when he needs advice.
This is my mistake. 😒
I asked him to remove some paint protection film and he did.
Well actually! But, to remove the excess glue, he used a scotch bright pad which accidentally scoured the paint a decent amount. It was not his fault, I should have been there to coach him along and show him for his first time.
The point is, we can train people to replace ourselves but we can't expect to tell people what we want and have the expectation that it will get done correctly if we fail as the coach.
Be there, be present, and train people to replace yourself and you will see the rewards in your investment in someone else.
We also had to repair the hood. I mentioned above about products that have not worked and others that have. My product recommendation for this month is a scratch repair solution called Fusion Clear. After wet sanding and compounding, the scratches were still in the paint.
I used a product called Fusion Clear as my last step and it filled in the scratches. Fusion-Clear rapidly repairs clear coat paint scratches, and it also works on plastics and trim.
I just used it to bring back my faded Jeep Wrangler fenders. It repairs damage, oxidation, and cures to a hard finish on the clear coat. I was seriously impressed!
I would only tell you about products in this email if I like them and Fusion Clear is something that should be in your shop for deep scratch repair.
In our newest video with our Audi A7, we show you how we took care of some SERIOUS PAINT DAMAGE and how you can too.
You can watch the video right here. And the Paint Correction segment is posted at 9:23-14:58
